1. Introduction

SceneFX AI ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website scenefxai.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

SceneFX AI is the data controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact: info@scenefxai.app.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: Name and email address collected via Clerk authentication.
Audio and video files: Files you upload for processing, stored in Cloudflare R2.
SRT / subtitle files: Subtitle files you upload are processed client-side (in your browser) or temporarily on our servers solely to perform the requested conversion. They are not retained after the conversion is complete.
YouTube integration data: When you connect your YouTube account, we store your channel ID, channel name, and OAuth tokens to upload videos on your behalf. We do not access videos or data beyond what is necessary to complete the upload you request.
Usage data: Basic analytics about how you interact with the service (pages visited, features used) via Vercel Analytics.
Payment information: Processed by Stripe. We do not store card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the SceneFX AI service
To upload videos to YouTube on your behalf when you request it
To process payments and manage your subscription
To send service-related notifications

4. AI Training Data — We Do Not Use Your Files to Train AI Models

SceneFX AI does notuse any files you upload — including audio, video, or SRT/subtitle files — to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model, whether our own or a third party's.

Your uploaded content is used exclusively to perform the specific task you requested (e.g. sound design, subtitle conversion). Once processing is complete, transient copies held by third-party AI providers are discarded in accordance with their respective data retention policies (see Section 5).

SceneFX AI processes your data on the legal basis of contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — solely to deliver the service you signed up for. We do not rely on consent or legitimate interest as a basis for AI-related data processing.

If this policy ever changes, we will notify you by email and request your explicit prior consent before any of your data is used for training purposes.

5. Third-Party AI Providers

We send your content to the following AI providers solely to perform processing:

Anthropic (Claude AI)

Scene analysis and script interpretation. Anthropic processes API inputs transiently and, under its API terms, does not use API data to train its models without explicit opt-in. Anthropic Privacy Policy ↗

Meta AI (MusicGen)

6. Google API Services

SceneFX AI uses Google APIs (YouTube Data API v3) to upload videos to YouTube on your behalf. Our use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We request only the permissions necessary to upload videos on your behalf (youtube.upload, youtube.readonly). We do not sell, share, or use your Google data for advertising or any purpose other than providing the upload feature you explicitly initiated.

You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, or from the Settings page within SceneFX AI.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Supabase – database hosting
Cloudflare R2 – file storage
Clerk – authentication
Stripe – payment processing
Anthropic / ElevenLabs / Meta AI – AI processing (transient, not for training — see Section 4 & 5)
Google (YouTube) – video upload when you explicitly request it

8. Data Retention

Account data: retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
Uploaded audio/video files: stored in Cloudflare R2. You can delete them from within the application at any time.
SRT / subtitle files: deleted immediately after conversion is complete; never written to persistent storage.
Third-party AI provider copies:discarded per each provider's transient processing policy (see Section 5).

9. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, encrypted token storage, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your GDPR Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with applicable data protection law, you have the following rights:

Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR):Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR): Request that we limit how we use your data.
Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Object to processing of your personal data.
Right to withdraw consent: If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@scenefxai.app. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (e.g. Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Cloudflare) are based in the United States. When we transfer personal data outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email and by updating the date at the top of this page. Changes that affect how we process data for AI training purposes will require your explicit consent before taking effect.
